Being a princess is a life goal of women in this world. Mainly, they were perceived in many different movies and stories. It is typically shown that being a princess is treated well and nicely. Everything you ask for is given, and not to forget, a charming prince in shining armor will come and treat you right. However, does being a princess really just about being treated like one? Or are there other aspects of life that are not really shown in stories or movies? There are different perceptions when talking about being a princess, how some stories perceive them, and how the reality is. This article will try to see how different or similar a princess is in fictional stories and in real life.
- Disney Princesses
When talking about the word princess, it is not too far to see how Disney has successfully conceptualized princess in the eyes of young children. In Disney’s stories, we can see that princesses are not always treated right. However, circumstances will bring you to the proper prince that will help you live happily ever after. Also, the concept of being beautiful and wearing beautiful dresses typically makes a princess in these stories. Not to mention living in massive castles and always having a charming prince by your side. Being a Disney princess has no real impact on other people’s lives and more on what she can do freely by being a princess.
- Princess in Real Life
While the fictional princesses do not always have the nicest beginning, they will most likely have the most incredible ending and are shown to have a happily ever after life. However, like most other people, princesses share a similar life. It might not be very similar to common people; they are still royalty, meaning they have royal blood and special privileges. In terms of their individual lives, they still have a responsibility to fill as royalty. In the real-world example of being a princess, we can see that modern princesses somehow have similar life with celebrities; they are sometimes followed by paparazzi. Their clothes, fashion style, and actions are more judged than a celebrity. It is because they are known to be an example for the people in the country. They are set to be more of an example to the people known to have supported the monarchy.
How we live our lives depends on how we choose it and make it happen. It is also how we perceive that if we are to live as a princess, some people might enjoy the good side of being a princess, while some might not enjoy its limitations. Maybe if we are all to live like the fictional princesses live, most people would say it is fun and enjoyable. Like most stories, even the fictional princesses have a terrible start compared to what most people experienced in reality. So, to have the thoughts of being a princess is to be treated like one is the reality that most people have conceptualized on what a princess is. However, more responsibilities have to be done just by being a princess in the real world. The feeling of whether being a princess is a great life experience or not will be dependent on how you choose to perceive it.
Being a princess doesn’t mean that it has to be the same as what others tell us. Each princess in real life has its own unique story. It’s not like everything begins in a bitter line or constantly become happily ever after, such as Disney princess.
