5 Simple Tips to Live a Healthy Lifestyle

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle can be overwhelmingly challenging; somehow it just doesn’t get along with the realities of daily life, especially in the midst of the pandemic. It’s hard to maintain a full-time job while keeping the right diet, exercise, making and drinking green juice every day, spend quality time with your loved ones, and meditate for about an hour each day.

Yes, healthy living can include all of the above, but starting a healthy lifestyle doesn’t mean drastic changes. You could adapt better to change by doing one thing at a time.

The biggest chunk of healthy living is really made up of the small things we do. So small they don’t feel tedious, but if done correctly and consistently over time, those small things will pay off in a big way.

  1. Develop a positive mindset

We’re pretty sure that the “power of positive thinking” is commonly known, and sometimes it can feel a little cliché. However, multiple scientific studies have shown the physical and mental benefits of positive thinking. A positive mindset can give you more confidence, improve your mood, and even reduce the risk of developing conditions such as hypertension, depression, and other stress-related disorders. “The only difference between a good day and a bad day is your attitude.” It’s true — mindset is everything! Develop a positive mindset by recognizing negative thought patterns and countering them with positive thoughts or affirmations.

  1. Minimize screen time

Some of us spend a lot of time staring at a screen — even more so during the pandemic. Time spent on smartphones, TVs, computers and video game consoles increased as we spent more time indoors. Studies show many adults indulge in as many as 11 hours of screen time a day. In many cases, they have jobs that require viewing screens for eight hours or longer a day. But there are ways to limit screen time for your health and well-being:

  • Keep track of your screen time
  • Avoid video fatigue
  • Take regular breaks and stretch
  • Pay attention to your posture
  1. Reduce your salt and sugar intake, remember to drink plenty of fluids

A high salt diet can result in high blood pressure, and increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. There are different ways to reduce salt in the diet like choosing products with lower sodium content, substituting salt with spices to increase the variety of flavors and don’t add salt before tasting.

Sugar provides sweetness and a tempting taste, but sugary foods and drinks are rich in energy, and are best enjoyed in moderation, as an occasional treat. We could use fruits instead, even to sweeten our foods and drinks.

Adults need to drink at least 1.5 liters of fluid a day! Or more if it’s very hot or they are physically active. Water is the best source, of course, and we can use tap or mineral water, sparkling or non-sparkling, plain or flavored.

  1. Plan and prioritize

Schedule time for planning. If we don’t plan, then we’re just reacting to other people’s priorities and taking on whatever is closest or loudest. Plan your work so you intentionally move toward your goals every day. Recognize and control your time-robbers. Whether they are imposed by others, or self-imposed, recognize whether that activity is helping or hindering you to accomplish what you need to.

By planning ahead, you are in the best position to adjust priorities. Proper planning is building enough room into your plans for additional demands. New demands pop-up and they may also be important. You should always assume that there will be unexpected requests. Set aside time for them. As long as they are important tasks that bring you closer to you goal, they must be done.

  1. Have a hobby or two

In our modern life, it is easy to forget taking some time off work. As research shows, having a healthy mind is related to having a healthy body. Hobbies aren’t just for fun and games, they range from discussing your latest literary work to reading the latest Otome stories in Memories Interactive which you can download here https://memories-game.onelink.me/G59O/blogglobal. Whatever the hobby, it can have benefits for your mind, body, social life and even your career. The benefits for each hobby will differ depending on what devote your time to and how much passion you put into it. But one thing is for certain, hobbies can have several benefits that will help you in the short and long term.

Finally, when it comes to a healthy lifestyle, doing small thing is better than doing nothing at all; if you want to do some exercise but you don’t have the time for it, take a short walk. A 5-minute walk is better than no walk at all! Remember that you don’t have to do everything, and all at once. Plus, you’re more likely to do things you actually enjoy. So, pick any of these healthy living tips that sound most enjoyable to you and start there!
